Tuition + Fees
Annual Tuition at the Montessori School of Ojai covers all basic educational expenses. MSO is a not-for-profit entity, and tuition rates are subject to change each year. Annual tuition is divided into ten equal payments. Our sources of income are derived from student tuition, fees, and contributions. Yes! Limited scholarships or multiple child discounts are available and must be applied for & renewed annually.
If you would like to apply for a scholarship, please email finance@montessorischoolofojai.org. An enrollment application must be on file in order to receive the scholarship application.

If your child starts enrollment at the beginning of the school year, annual tuition is divided into ten equal payments.
Payment #1 is the Security Deposit, due at the time of enrollment and equal to one monthly tuition.
Payments #2 - #10 are billed on the 15th of each month (August - April) with payment due within 30 days from date of invoice.
On May 15th, you will be invoiced the final tuition amount and at that time, you will be credited the Security Deposit.
If you child starts enrollment mid-year, annual tuition will be prorated for the remaining school days. That tuition will be divided as follows:
Payment #1 is the Security Deposit, equal to one monthly tuition.
Payment #2 will be a prorated monthly tuition.
Payments #3 and all following will be at the monthly tuition rate.

Yes! Child Care hours (if used) are compiled monthly and added to your tuition invoice. Child Care is available before class, starting at 7 a.m. (7:30 a.m. for Infants), and after class until 5:30 p.m.
Infants: $12.75 per hour per child
Toddler/Pre-Kindergarten: $12.50 per hour per child
All other children: $12.25 per hour per child

Yes. Tuition will remain the same regardless of student absences (including illnesses).
Our tuition does take into account holidays, breaks, and early dismissals.

Additional charges, such as Hot Lunch, Child Care, and After-School Programs, will be compiled monthly and added to your tuition bill.

Application Fee ($200 per student): Due at the time of applying. Application fee will be deducted from Registration Fee upon enrollment.
Registration Fee ($450 per family per year): Secures a spot for your child.
Security Deposit (equal to one month tuition): Non-refundable if enrollment stops prior to the end of the school year.

The Materials Fee is invoiced during the first regular billing cycle. This fee helps cover the cost of supplemental supplies and Montessori materials in each classroom. For our Middle School, it also helps to cover the cost of annual trips.

Yes! MSO is a non-profit 501 ( c ) ( 3 ) corporation. Each family is asked to make an annual contribution to our fundraising campaigns, which we use to make capital improvements to the school.
