Because we are a non-profit independent school, we receive no federal, state or local funding. Therefore, we rely on our Annual Fund, year-round fundraisers, and volunteers to keep our tuition low and continue the tradition of delivering high-quality, individualized instruction to everyone in the community, regardless of financial need.
From cash gifts to in-kind donations to the gift of time, it’s easy to find a way to contribute.
The Montessori School of Ojai’s Annual Fund allows the school to offer financial aid to students in need; train and retain qualified Montessori instructors; and enhance and maintain our beautiful 10-acre campus. Every donation counts, and we welcome every MSO family to join its teachers and staff in giving any amount possible to the Annual Fund. Here are some easy ways to contribute to our Annual Fund:
Set up an automated monthly gift to MSO— simply contact us and ask for a recurring gift to be added to your monthly invoice.
Many corporations offer matching gifts to their employees. Simply contact your HR department to see if your company offers matching gifts, and watch your donation double (or triple!).
Through a partnership with Morgan Stanley, MSO can receive gifts of highly appreciated stock.
Donors receive a tax-deduction based on the value of the stock at the time of donation
By donating stock in-kind, donors also avoid paying capital gains taxes
As a non-profit, MSO can sell the stock and avoid paying taxes on any gain
Donations of IRA Required Minimum Distributions are another great way to give. Donors avoid paying any taxation on the distribution.

One of the most important ways we keep our tuition and fees low is through the generosity of our volunteers. Here are a few ways to get involved:
Attend the annual Parent Night in September and review the list of volunteer needs. Sign up early to guarantee that you get the best job to fit your skills!
Contact Emily Baker, Administrative Assistant (email@example.com) and let her know what type of volunteer work you are most interested in. We know that our families bring a wealth of knowledge and skills to the community and we would love to connect you to the type of volunteer work that best matches those skills!
