Science Specialist

We are seeking a Science Specialist for students ranging from 3rd through 8th grade. We hope to meet candidates who are comfortable working with both younger and older students. Familiarity with Montessori learning philosophy is helpful but is not required. Other qualifications include the ability to:

  • Teach in a hands-on, experiential style

  • Be respectful of children

  • Be able to communicate concepts clearly

  • Manage a class of 8-11 students

  • Peacefully resolve conflicts between students

  • Work with classroom teachers

Subjects to be taught include:

  • Astronomy

  • Physical Sciences (including Physics and Chemistry)

  • Life Sciences (Botany, Biology, and Zoology)

  • Earth Science

This is a part-time position, but it includes paid prep time. The schedule is flexible within 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Position available after December 1.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
