The Montessori School of Ojai is looking for a Science Specialist. This position is a part-time position, but includes paid prep time. We are seeking a Science Specialist for students ranging from toddlers through 8th grade. We hope to meet candidates who are comfortable working with both older and younger students.

Other qualifications include the ability to:

• Teach in a hands-on, experiential style

• Be respectful of children

• Be able to communicate concepts clearly

• Manage a class of 8-10 students

• Peacefully resolve conflicts between students

• Work with classroom teachers

Subjects to be taught include:

• Astronomy

• Physical Sciences (including Physics and Chemistry)

• Life Sciences (Botany, Biology and Zoology)

• Earth Science

Additional Information:

• Familiarity with Montessori learning philosophy is helpful but not required

• Pay: Dependent on experience and qualifications, $22 - $24 an hour

• Schedule is flexible within 8:00 am-2:30 pm, Monday-Friday.

Specialist for students ranging from toddlers through 8th grade. We hope to meet candidates who are comfortable working with both older and younger students.

• Teach in a hands-on, experiential style

• Be respectful of children

• Be able to communicate concepts clearly

• Manage a class of 10-15 students

• Peacefully resolve conflicts between students

• Make fitness fun and enjoyable

• Provide students with the skills, knowledge and attitudes necessary to make active living a way of life

Subjects to be taught include:

• Large and small motor skills

• Cooperation, fair play, sportsmanship, teamwork and communication

• Skill development (both with and without sports equipment)

• Basic skills in a wide range of sports/fitness activities

We are seeking a Music Specialist for students ranging from toddlers through 8th grade. We hope to meet candidates who are comfortable working with both older and younger students.

• Manage a class of 8-10 students

• Peacefully resolve conflicts between students

• Experience with playing a variety of instruments (including but not limited to: keyboard, drums, violins, guitar, etc.)

• Experience teaching music (preferred)

• Experience with small-scale productions (preferred)

Subjects to be taught include:

• Toddler – Pre-Kindergarten: Rhythm, movement, and sound exploration to help develop auditory skills, coordination, and an early appreciation for music.

• Elementary – Middle School: Music theory fundamentals, music history, and instrument exploration/education.
