Eddie Vedder singer/songwriter/guitar player for the legendary Seattle band Pearl Jam has donated many items that will benefit the Montessori School of Ojai. Starting May 18 through May 28, 2008 on ebay you can bid on Rock n Roll History and support The Montessori School of Ojai.

Eddie Vedder has contributed items to further the Montessori School of Ojai's Mission Statement: The Montessori School of Ojai is a small, nurturing educational community for 120 students serving ages 2 through 14. Our goal is to provide the highest quality Montessori education possible with a strong emphasis on academics in a child-centered and creative environment. There are many principles that set a Montessori education apart from others. We strive to provide an academic environment that also enhances self-esteem and develops a strong sense of individual responsibility and community.

The Montessori School of Ojai will use these valuable to funds for our Infant - Toddler program and the further conservation efforts of the greening our campus. The Montessori School of Ojai thanks Eddie Vedder and the community for your support.

Vedder's work spans almost twenty years with Pearl Jam and solo projects. They include several soundtracks and compilations including Dead Man Walking, I Am Sam, and Into the Wild. Vedder won a 2008 Golden Globe for the song "Guaranteed" from Into the Wild. He has written two songs for the 2008 feature documentary Body of War produced by Ellen Spiro and Phil Donahue.

Eddie Vedder is an activist and surfer. Vedder is active in surf related conservation efforts; most notably, the Surfrider Foundation. Eddie Vedder is also a longtime and outspoken supporter for the Free the West Memphis 3 movement. Vedder and Pearl Jam support many causes.
